If you are looking for an easy reading short story, this is a cute one. It combines an element of suspense , but very little and it is not resolved with this book. Hopefully, a conclusion is reached in the next in the series. Simple story, simple writing, almost lovable characters leave me feeling less than satisfied. If fleshed out this could be an exciting book. Ms James has potential and I for one, look forward to bigger and better with experience.

The girls fall instantly in love with these strangers who need a wife. Why bother writing about these strangers? So you can spend three books worth of money to find out what happens to the maybe-ex-murderess and the guy she has a fancy for - who is not her husband. I would probably hand over my money if it rated somewhere above 'meh' on the writing scale.

Mail order bride. I loved this book but was disappointed with it ending where it did as I feel there was so much more to come. The possibilities for more are many. I kind of feel cheated to be honest.
