While reading about Katherine Parr, found MANY mistakes. For one, Alice Neville and her brother Warwick were not siblings of Cicely, Duchess of York. Second, Maud Green had a sister named Anne who married Lord Vaux and had issue, the 2nd Lord Vaux. Third, she did not marry the elder Sir Edward Burgh "Borough", 2nd Baron Borough of Gainsborough. She married his grandson who also shared his name, Sir Edward Burgh. Sir Edward was the eldest son of Sir Thomas Burgh, who after his father was declared insane and never summoned to Parliament as the 2nd Baron was created 1st Baron Burgh. Sir Edward, 2nd Baron died in August 1528. Katherine did not marry until 1529. It is generally agreed by Catherine's recent biographers that she married the 2nd Baron's grandson. With the research of documents and the examination of her mother's will (dated May 1529) it is without a doubt that it was the younger Edward, son of Sir Thomas. In her will, Maud Parr, mentioned Sir Thomas, father of Edward, saying 'I am indebted to Sir Thomas Borough, knight, for the marriage of my daughter'. At the time of his eldest son's marriage, Thomas, was thirty-five which would made Edward around Catherine's age. Edward was in his twenties and may have been in poor health. Since Thomas's father, Edward, was never called to Parliament as the 2nd Baron Borough of Gainsborough -- the title was recreated in favour of his son Thomas who was summoned to Parliament as the 1st Baron Burgh in 1529. The younger Sir Edward Borough died in the spring of 1533 without fulfilling the title of 'Lord Burgh "Borough" of Gainsborough'. Since this was written in 1842 and the author did not have the sources we have today -- I'm guessing that is why quite a few things are incorrect.
