About this ebook

                                      EVIL HAS A FACE

The children of New Orleans are disappearing one by one. No bodies have been found. No ransom demands made. Poor or Rich. Black or White. Boy or Girl. The kidnapper does not play favorites.

                                               PRAY

Nineteen year-old Jon-Luc Boudreaux is trying to manage his gift. He’s a psychic medium. In other words, he sees the dead. They appear to him as living, breathing people. At times it’s hard to know the difference. One night he is visited by the ghost of a young girl named Charlotte. Her message is simple: Save the children.

                                           THAT EVIL

Jon-Luc has no idea how to do that. He’s not a cop. He knows nothing about finding missing kids. He tries to ignore her, but Charlotte won’t leave him alone until he promises to help. Since her visits started, he’s had some very disturbing visions. When the signs begin to point toward Voodoo, he has no choice but to find an expert.

                                          DOES NOT

Celestine Glapion is a Voodoo Priestess and a descendant of the great Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. The minute Jon-Luc walks into her family’s shop, she remembers him, but he has no memory of her. So when Mama Arelia tells her she must help with this crisis, she’s reluctant to work side-by-side with Jon-Luc. But she’ll do anything for the sake of those innocent lives.

                                           FIND YOU

Their journey takes them to the underbelly of New Orleans where dark magic lives. Jon-Luc escapes death not once, but twice, and still he pushes on. Knowing time is running out, the kidnapper speeds up the schedule. Now the children’s lives hang in the balance and only Jon-Luc holds the key to their survival. Can they rescue them in time?

ALL THE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES STAND ALONE. NO NEED TO READ IN ORDER. THANK YOU.

It’s not often an author goes back and writes a book about a character from a previous book. We met Jon-Luc Boudreaux in Spirits Among Us as an adult. He is a clairvoyant that can see the dead and who went on to work for the FBI and helped solve many cases with his gift before burning out and quitting. In Spirits of the Bayou we go back to his childhood in Louisiana and get to see when his “gift” first activated and then how he helped solve a case of children being kidnapped and then murdered in gruesome ways. The majority of this story is a 19 year old Jon-Luc who is still struggling with his gift when a ghost of a little girl keeps haunting him in his dreams and transporting him to a grisly site of all the dead children. She wants him to help the children. This book is heavy in the Voodoo and Hoodoo culture – which is something I love. The backdrop of the Louisiana bayous, evil beings casting spells, the good voodoo priestess that help combat the evil hoodoo all make for a compelling story. If you love spooky romances I recommend giving this series a try. Each book has different aspects of the supernatural and you’re captivated from beginning to end.

This story blew me away. I am a paranormal junkie and psychics are my favorite! This is a prequel to the Spirits Trilogy and it gives us the background on the fabulously sexy Jon-Luc from Spirits Among Us. My attention was captured with the first line and I was riveted to the end. This story is action packed and full of magic and evil. And in NOLA, you gotta have hoodoo and voodoo. And wow did she bring us the voodoo! The one thing I love about stories set in New Orleans are things that would be totally unbelievable anywhere else, fit right in the seam of that life. This was a truly great read. Lots of unexpected, creeptastic moments (snakes!) and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, she threw in a truly wild twist. I found myself thinking about this story all the time. Counting the minutes until I could read again, and trying to plot out what might happen next. I stayed engaged in this story beginning to end. I loved it! I cannot recommend this enough!

Page-turner alert!! Just didn't want to stop reading! I loved the action, romance, and paranormal elements in this book. Spirits of the Bayou is a look into the past and tells us more about Jon-Luc, so this novel can stand alone in the trilogy. If you like New Orleans and its paranormal culture, with all that voodoo and evil spell casting, then this will be a thrilling read. Love to be scared! Can't wait to start reading her next book!
