About this ebook

 * This is a New Adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter. She didn't know what she was missing...until he found her.

Maxwell Knight was dangerously good-looking, seductively charming, and definitely
trouble. He was everything Jeanella Mefferd did NOT need now.

Fresh out of college, life was predictable and comfortable for Jeanella. She had the
strength of her friends, the security of her job, and she was dating a reliable
man; it was all smooth sailing. That was until one night, when she met someone
who made her feel things she'd never felt before--dangerous, heart pounding,
breathless heat. Never imagining she would see him again, Jeanella has no idea what to do when fate steps in and thrusts Maxwell Knight into her life, just as things were
beginning to change around her. When she lands her dream job and travels to New
York for Fashion Week, can she focus on her career instead of on Maxwell?

Will she ignore all the danger signs and jump straight into his arms; or would she
miss out on the chance of finding something great?

I was hooked from the moment I started reading this book. This is Mary Ting’s first venture into this genre writing under the name of M. Clarke. She has already made her mark with her Crossroads Saga. (needs to be a movie) It was well worth the wait! One of the main characters in the book is a recent college graduate by the name of Jenna. Looking for her dream job and just settling for her current relationship which is safe. She is easy to relate to as with most women we tend to not believe we can have it all. We decide it’s easier to settle and not look for our “Something Great”. Thankfully with the help and prodding of her really good friends, she takes a chance. Enter Maxwell Knight who is absolutely swoon worthy and does his best to win her over. From the time their eyes meet you could just feel the fireworks leaping from the pages. I felt myself become totally immersed in the characters. You could actually feel the heat! I love the fact that this is a story not only of love between a man and a woman but also the love between really good friends who care about each other’s well being. It was wonderful seeing Jenna emerge from a chrysalis to a butterfly.

Loved, Loved! I enjoyed Something Great so very much. I was drawn into this story, its so well written. It had a bit of "Pretty Woman" (movie) feel to it at one point. Of course, It follows the new trend of rich, super hot guy falls for plain young woman working for him. and when they have some miscommunication, one of them runs away only to not speak to each other for a few days before the truth comes out. Even through it is similar to some other stories out now, this one is still awesome. And I recommend it to all romance lovers. This story also has some hot moments, sad moments and others you just want to hurry through to get to more good stuff I was given this copy in exchange for an honest review.

The narrative voice was not for me. The romance between Jenna and Max felt forced and not genuine. I didn't think Max was smooth at all, he was a corny horn dog who talked too much IMO. I thought Jenna was boring and the story overall was predictable and cliché. It told when it should have showed and showed things it could have told. I only finished it because I don't like doing things halfway but it was a painful journey, especially in the last couple of chapters.

About the author

International Bestselling Author Mary Ting/M. Clarke resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children's chapter book-No Bullies Allowed.
