About this ebook

Jerricho didn’t expect his first solo mission to send him to the Middle East nor to rescue his journalist ex-wife and her cameraperson. Finding out why they and the other women had been taken was horrifying in itself, but saving a larger group than he’d first expected then complicates the rescue in a much bigger way.

Brenna had hopes that her ex would show up, as she knew the type of work he did. She’d always wanted a chance to show him how much she’d changed. This was hardly the ideal time, but she might not get a second chance.

Rescuing the women and taking out the kidnappers should have been the end of it, until they realize it’s not as simple as it first seems. The women were objects initially; now they’re targets …

TheThe Mavericks are a black ops secret government agency. Two ex-SEALs work together on missions with the Mavericks providing intel and anything else they may need. Diesel is notified that Jericho’s ex-wife Brenna is missing, he offers Jericho the opportunity to rescue her which he accepts. Jericho and Killian are working together on the mission with Diesel providing all the support that they need. They discover that Brenna is a journalist on assignment when she was kidnapped along with her cameraperson Jessie. Through the mavericks, Jericho and Killian track Brenna and Jessie from one ship to another. As they follow their trail, they find out that the women are scheduled to be auctioned soon. Jericho and Killian need to rescue the women now. After rescuing all the women that were to be auctioned, it seems like the story was over and it was only chapter 4. I really liked that the action starts up again. First there are pirates to contend with, then Brenda is kidnapped again, and there is the case of the stolen American intelligence. Like the other books in the series, it cannot end without finding love or in this case rekindling love. This is another great book in the Maverick series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A light suspense read mixed with second chance romance with lots of action. Not my fav though, because it felt rushed from scene to scene, the mystery still got me confused and I found it unbelievable and the romance part is sweet and adorable but I felt sometimes it was misplaced, but loveeee love love the actions, especially the rescue of the kidnapping victims, really got me on the edge of my seat with danger in every corner. Loveeee the characters too, Jericho and Killian are amazing teammate, the team work always superb and love the story how Breanna changed to be a better person. So overall it's an enjoyable entertaining read for me. If you're looking for a fast-paced light suspense romance, try this one.

Can be read as a stand alone. Jerricho is off to the middle east for his solo mission with the black ops team Maverick. Killian is his back up - partner. His ex wife, Brenna (reporter) and camera person are missing. This had a slightly different spin on Brenna, she came from a rich house hold and was extremely selfish and immature - hence the break up. All Jerrichos buddies told him he was better off. He does his job and heads middle east to find her. In the midst of the terror (human trafficking) smugglers and the trek he finds she has changed, she has grown up. Can he believe that? Can she believe in herself? Their relationship expounds and grows in such a realistic way. In the midst of this there are twists a few surprises and we get to meet our M16 guy again. I wonder if he get a story down the line. As always Dales books have a serious thread that its touched on, dealt with lightly as she gently shines a light on some of the horrors in the world. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
