About this ebook

A New York Times and USA TODAY Bestseller
“50 Most Impactful Black Books of the Last 50 Years.” —Essence
Nominated as one of America’s best-loved novels by PBS’s The Great American Read

The instant classic from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Life After Death brings the streets of New York to life in a powerful and utterly unforgettable novel.

I came busting into the world during one of New York’s worst snowstorms, so my mother named me Winter.

Ghetto-born, Winter is the young, wealthy daughter of a prominent Brooklyn drug-dealing family. Quick-witted, sexy, and business-minded, she knows and loves the streets like the curves of her own body. But when a cold Winter wind blows her life in a direction she doesn’t want to go, her street smarts and seductive skills are put to the test of a lifetime. Unwilling to lose, this ghetto girl will do anything to stay on top.

Twenty-five years and over one million copies later, The Coldest Winter Ever is a bestseller and a national treasure, a classic handed down from one reading generation to the next. Whether you are reading it for the first time or have cherished it for years, you will never forget this Winter’s tale.

It's bc of THIS book and THIS author why I've gotten back into the groove of reading again and wanting to maybe become an author myself. (Wishful thinking) I've had several odd my girlfriend's tell me that I should become a writer. Who knows we'll see, but in the meantime I really would like to thank my girlfriend Kendall M. Thompson for suggesting I read this book Because of her I have become one of Sister Souljah's most beloved nd biggest fans! Nd I've even found myself "crushing on" & " amused as well as overwhelmed wit pure love for the character "Midnight "! I CAN'T wait til you bless us with a Part4 to his journey and triumphs after he arrives to that calm/ loft.💕💯 Thank you thank you my beautiful, smart, intelligent, respected, loved, natural, honest sister also queen and author for making open my minds and written my brain of new adventure and discovery. - LaTonya Joseph

I read it once whenever I was a young teenager locked up in a youth detention center boot camp, living and learning. I'm 32 and am most definitely going to now read it again because I loved it so much the first time and have always wanted the opportunity. Its the only book that has ever made me cry... It left me even though out the years with the since of wanting more due to the book being so captivating, almost realistic, so much so that one's self gets the since as if you knew the caracteres. So surprisingly for me to find out there is a sequel and one more after that, has me honestly thrilled and excited that i didn't know b4 now. Exercise and excellent reading material, "here I come!!"
