A Spring Deception by Jess Michaels is a fantastic Hot and steamy, Regency Historical Romance. Book 2 in "Seasons", but it can be read as a stand alone. Although, I'd suggest reading Book 1, "An Affair in Winter", as well, to give you a better understanding of Miss Celia Fitzgilbert, but not necessary to follow the story. In "A Spring Deception" we are entertained by the secrets and deceptions of Miss Celia Fitzgilbert and John Dane, aka Aiden, Duke of Clairemont. John/Aiden is a master spy on a mission to feret out a traitor, by pretending to be the reclusive Duke of Clairemont, who has been murdered and is suspected of being a traitor. Celia, was engaged once to her sister's brother by marriage, you're need to read Book 1 to get all the gushy details on that one. She's now back in society, longing to learn their true father’s name, from their grandfather, another tale left for Book 1. Who should she encounter, the Duke of Clairemont, sparks fly and the deception begins. Celia, and John /Aiden find themselves in a situation where both are comfortable with each other and of course, as John, he feels beneath her. For in reality he has no title, nor any land. Well written with captivating and seductive characters. The storyline is very intriguing, captivating even and tantalizing. To me "A Spring Deception" was more complicated and more intriguing than "An Affair in Winter". However, please don't misunderstand, "An Affair in Winter" was a great read as well. I think the difference is the complexity and deception in "A Spring Deception". Filled with danger, treachery, deception, spies, traitors, sensual encounters, romance and true love, with twists and turns along the way. Another hot and steamy Regency Romance from Ms. Michaels, whose storytelling is simply tanalizling, captivating and most intriguing. The "Seasons" series just keeps getting better and better. I look forward to the next tanalizling installment of the "Seasons" series. Which, I believe will be in November of this year, fingers crossed. A must read for fans of hot and steamy Regency Romance, danger, mystery and suspense. I dearly hope you will pick up Ms. Michaels' "A Spring Deception". An absolutely wickedly delicious Regency! Received for an honest review from Net Galley. However, all opinions, insights and thoughts are my own personal opinions. Rating: 4.5 Heat rating: Hot /Steamy Reviewed by: AprilR

Celia was a major fixture in her sister Rosalinde's finding love in An Affair in Winter. Rosalinde and Celia share a bond that is as strong as the heartache and disappointments they have had to live through. A Spring Deception sheds more light on Celia and her continued quests for answers in her search for the truth about her family. Her journey is paved with deceit and it takes her into a world far more complicated than any she has experienced before. As often happens Ms. Michaels sets the course for events that are shocking and fan the flames of forbidden love with all it's complications, but she once again delivers the thrill of love with all it's tragedies and triumphs in a story that is emotional, entertaining and worthy of a five star review.
