For anyone interested in Baptist church history and Christian doctrine. Hiscox does a wonderful job of explaining some often confusing and misunderstood terms, including "regeneration," "sanctification," "baptism," "justification," etc. A wonderful addition to any Christian's library, esp. pastors, Baptist or otherwise, as well as those seeking to know more about Christianity. You will have to overlook the lack of inclusivity ( as one might expect for a man of Hiscox's day... e.g. all ministers are assumed to be "brothers.") Still, a good book to have on one's shelf.
