Three years after her escape, she gets her revenge.

The only problem is, she's got the wrong man.

God help her if he escapes.

The Escape Artist is a Dark Romance that has an HEA and NO cliffhangers. The Con Artist also occurs in this world. Both books are interlocking standalone in the same world and can be read in any order.

Reader Praise:

Kitty described this book as a hybrid love child between Comfort Food and Tender Mercies (my #1 and #2) and it absolutely is that. If you liked either of those, chances are you’ll love this.” – Charlie, Goodreads Reader

Her worlds always seem to be so wrong, yet somehow turn out to have been right all along. And this world is just another incredible example of that. And holy sh** does it ever deliver. You almost couldn’t make up a story this crazy.” – Cindi Russell, Goodreads Reader

That was, well, that was one of the most amazing reads I’ve ever read! It flowed, it ebbed, it was smooth, and bumpy, but not sharp or cutting. It mesmerized me, it soothed and fired me up, at the same time, about the same things. Claire and Ari didn’t need to know anything about each other, not from their lives, because they connected on a primal level. They knew each other, and exposed to the other, their souls, and that was enough. The real world had no place in their connection, and only a fox named Arnold was allowed to intrude on their solitude Claire has broken pieces, and they are valid and real. Ari knows he isn’t perfect, and her broken pieces bring out the best in him. They fit; they are the ying to the other’s yang. The shards of one, opens the soothing in the other. They energize, they empower, and they simply are perfect together. They left me hyper and awake after reading their story. Immersed in their world, they didn’t only draw me in, they shone back out, making me feel their hope, their connection, their flawlessness when they were together Quite simply, they gave as much as they took, and their synergy is blindingly wonderful!

This book is amazing! I think this book has taken over as my favorite by Kitty Thomas. It’s wonderful like Tender Mercies and has such a sweet ending. We met Ari in The Con Artist and I loved him, he reminded me of a Viking. Kitty didn’t disappoint with the development of Ari’s character and Claire was wonderful. Ari’s patience and caring for Claire after all she had been through even after what she done to him further showed Ari’s noble character that we got glimpses of in The Con Artist. After finishing this book it immediately went on my reread list. This is a stand-alone but is the second part of a duet, they can be read in any order, and doesn’t end in a cliff-hanger.

A rather brutal story though I found parts of it very absorbing. A twist on the usual "romance - nice girl meets nice boy type read" which was unexpected and refreshing. Giving it 5 stars for an original work.
