A good story. The writer doesn't leave much to the imagination though. I like a book that leaves me asking several poignant questions. This one summarises many of the books psychological themes in the final chapter. It's as though it was finished in a hurry, like a child writing a narrative who ends with the line, 'then I woke up and it was all a dream'. A bit disappointing.

This book is well written, I really like this as characters and their psychological view are shown in a perfect coordination. Up to end sarah is loving ,caring and helping mother and she understand the problem of her daughter that was so much harsh for a child to face such a situation in the school . Both the character of twins are shown in one, this is so much winning point in the whole story . Sarah's death like as is distasteful as she play the main role to safe her family and to resolve the problems of her daughter in each and every way and she feels guilty when she know the truth but that was the silly mistake of her life at that moments . Behaviour of kristie is shown in so many faces as lydia , ghost and sometimes as both and she also behaves as brave girl in the end . Angus knew the truth from starting but he protected his family . Every character has some secret in their own I appreciate it so much.

I read this book as it kept being recommended to me by Google Play based on about 20 other psychological thrillers I've read recently. It seems popular so I gave it a go. For me, it was dull & laborious. The author sets the scene well for this story, dark, atmospheric, cold, but it went on & on & got me down. OK if it was a gripping page turner, but it wasn't, for me. Plenty of psychology going on & an OK story, but none of the twists & turns & cliffhanging chapters that I love in a book. Dreary so 3 stars
