About the author
Klaus Mann (1906-1949) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und ältester Sohn des berühmten Schriftstellers Thomas Mann. Nach seiner Emigration 1933 nahm er eine zentrale Rolle im literarischen Kampf gegen den Nationalsozialismus ein. Als Emigrant lebte er in Amsterdam, Zürich, Prag, Paris und ab 1936 in den USA, deren Staatsbürgerschaft er annahm. 1949 beging er Selbstmord.
