About this ebook

The realm of the dead. A powerful enemy. One man’s soul at the center of life and death…

Carver Reed doesn’t scare easily. As WWI relentlessly sends lost ones to the other side, the cocky guide tracks down consumed spirits in the phantom world and ensures they cycle to their next reincarnation. But while pursuing a horde of dangerous ghosts, he runs into an ambush targeting his execution.

Learning these beings believe his sacrifice will help individuals cross back to the land of the living, Carver barely escapes with a new mission to figure out his past. But now ruthlessly hunted and with his forbidden love life at risk of discovery, he fears more than his own existence is at stake.

Will Carver fall prey to a malevolent agenda?

Riven is the gritty first book in The Riven Trilogy historical fantasy series. If you like mysterious heroes, tense action, and page-turning magic, then you’ll be gripped by A.R. Knight’s gothic steampunk adventure.

steam punk fantasy with a ghost killer, alternate reality that's sounds purgetory, this well written in the first person view, I'm still reading it just wanted to take the time to leave a review, almost noir like but with a supernatural twist, absolutely enjoying it, highly recommend

Interesting concept of purgatory or a ghost realm. Seems like the action I've read lately is all the near death kind yet instantaneous recovery is all the rage. Maybe it's a gamer mentality? Mortality sucks in real life, never forget.

About the author

A.R. Knight writes sci-fi and fantasy in the frozen north of Wisconsin. With a pair of cats keeping him company, he enjoys delving into adventures that are as much about the villain as the hero.

After getting a degree in journalism and touring the country installing healthcare software, A.R. Knight thought it would be good to get back to what he loved. So now he's got a small office and early mornings to spin whatever tales come into his imagination.

When he's not writing, A.R. Knight tends to travel anywhere he can, whether that's islands off the coast of Ecuador, the rainforest, snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains, or sipping scotch in Edinburgh. That's the nice thing about the writing life, you can take it anywhere.
