About this ebook

The third book in Michael Grant's New York Times bestselling Gone series, Lies is another heart-in-your-throat page-turner, both chilling and thought-provoking.

It's been seven months since all the adults disappeared. Gone.

It happens in one night. A girl who died now walks among the living; Zil and the Human Crew set fire to Perdido Beach, and amid the flames and smoke, Sam sees the figure of the boy he fears the most: Drake. But Drake is dead. Sam and Caine defeated him along with the Darkness—or so they thought.

As Perdido Beach burns, battles rage: Astrid against the Town Council; the Human Crew versus the mutants; and Sam against Drake, who is back from the dead and ready to finish where he and Sam left off. And all the while deadly rumors are raging like the fire itself, spread by the prophetess Orsay and her companion, Nerezza. They say that death is a way to escape the FAYZ. Conditions are worse than ever and kids are desperate to get out. But are they desperate enough to believe that death will set them free?

“Disturbing, brilliantly plotted, and boasting a balanced mix of action and scheming.” —ALA Booklist

Great 3rd installment of the Gone series. Wasn't as good as Hunger but still just as interesting and exciting. So tempted to skip to the last book and find out how it ends.

All of the other books are amazing, but this one...not so much. I hate how it went on and on about Mary, but the rest of it was great!

Awesome, but I have a few questions. First, What really happens in the poof? Also, Emma and her sister weren't the only one to poof. What about Andrew and that other kid (Beeno maybe)? They poofed to. Gods, poor Mary. Also, how can the Gaiaphage use Lanna's power with out her touching it? If it could do that, why did it need Lana to come to it last time instead of just sucking at her power? That could have changed the quite a bit of the book. Like maybe Edilio would have had his close call. That really scared me, If Edilio dies I'm so dropping my fanship of this series, same of Brianna, because she's cool te, but not as cool as Edilio. Thank the stars for Lana, I wonder why she couldn't heel Hunter. I want to know what's happening outside the Fayz, but I don't think that believing Orsay is the right choose, but I'm not siding with Astrid either, I was starting to not like her in hunger, but now I'm sure I really don't like her. By the way, where is Astrid's power now. Because I the first book she had some kind of power to read importence or something, but now hasn't been mensioned in hunger or this book, they're all calling Astrid a normal. Tell I'm not the only know who noticed this. But then about things always seem to be different, I mean what about the Dekka Brianna thing? In Hunger We're told that Dekka didn't notice Brianna at first and on got a crush (that word seems so that of place of the Fayou) on her until after they were stuck in cement. But here we're told that it was love at first side. And that she was crushing before Brianna became "The Breeze". When did Brianna become the Breeze anyway, before or after Sam freed? If it was after then maybe the two stories fit together, but it still desn't quite add up, not noticing and fall in love at first siteeaadon't seem like the same thing. Or maybe I'm just missing something. I wouldn't surprised if I just, Michael sems to add now things, and sabtract things from each book. Like Orsay, Shall was there the whole time, but we didn't meet her until Hunger. Or Sanjit, again there the whole time, but only comes in to the story when he's about to play a roll in it. I wodder who will be added in the next three books. And what other details will go missing, like Astrid's power, or the other (inhanced people?) that sam and the others saved from Coats. I the first book we were told that their were like 20, but now it really only seems to be Dekka Brianna and Taylor. Who are all the others, and what are their powers? Also, where tid they go? Michael Your Amazing, but you should really tro to remember what you write about. I'm also a little disapointed, I thought maybe Caine had changed. Don't ask me why, but Caine just seemed different at the end of Hunger. I don't think I just the only know who thought so, but it doesn't matter if anyone else thought so, because it wasn't true. Caine is the same big, twisted jerk as he was before, but at least he's kind of human, Not like Drake who at this point is just as evil as the Gaiaphage. Can someone explain the whole Drake/Brittney thing to me? Because it's just weird. How did Drake missing piece of whip get from the meaddle of the power plant to Brittney's body anyway. It just doesn't make since. Putting all of that aside, The book was awesome, just like the first two, and I look forward to reading the rest. Good Job Michael, I really feel everyone. Please don't kill Edilio, Brianna, Sam, Lana or Caine. I don't really care about anyone else.
