I suspect many of the bad reviewers failed to make it passed the Introduction.. And because Guy praised Apple, they dismissed the book. I do not like Apple products, but that didn't stop me reading. It has some really useful information for users old and new. This book does state the obvious for some, but there are countless other people that need a lot of help to "get" Google Plus. I was on it from Beta testing, and loved it from the start. P.s I am real.. Search "Hannah Roberts."

Google+ is fairly straightforward to use in terms of its basic functionality, but you'll want to have this book to understand the purpose behind using Google+ instead of other social media services. Kawasaki shows the clear differences in intent between Google+ and Facebook, and his work greatly influenced the way that I'm able to use the service. Your Facebook friends and family may or may not appreciate your hobbies and interests, but you can easily find others on G+ interested in the same subjects.

'What the Plus!' scores big as an overview of the Google Plus platform tools and best practices. For someone who already uses G+ Guy Kawasaki's book will likely point out several tricks and niceties that get overlooked or underutilized. However I have found that using the book as an introduction to non-users in a team setting gets everyone up, running and communicating very quickly. Specifically affinity groups (camera club, garden club, volunteer organizations) can both create a large presence quickly and gather tremendous benefits from 'outsider' comments and shares using the tips found in 'What the Plus!'.
