A dark, brutal act and the expectation of an unwinding tale of a woman's need to get revenge piqued my interest. This story could have flowed nicely and kept me more than a little interested. After every line of dialogue one or two paragraphs described every thought and feeling she had. Only 3 days were covered in 224 pages. The words,"four years," were used 118 times. Or, I could've said, Too much descriptive text slowed the flow of the story down to a crawl.

This is my first political thriller. I've never tried to once want to read a book of this genre. BUT reading what the book was about caught me attention. AND once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I read the next two books in this series straight after. I gave the first book 4 stars because I had to skim pass some lead characters thoughts she had going on in her head the first 5 chapters, But once the story got going I was committed and eager to find out what happens next.

A deeply emotional journey filled with danger, secrets, betrayal, longing and passion.... Nothing is every exactly what it seems on the surface. This trilling and dangerous game kept me hooked from beginning to end and kept me guessing the whole way. My perspective changed with each new heart pounding twist and turn. Looking forward to reading more!
