About this ebook

First book in a new fast-paced suspense series

Dr. Lilly Reeves is a young, accomplished ER physician with her whole life ahead of her. But that life instantly changes when she becomes the fifth victim of a serial rapist. Believing it's the only way to recover her reputation and secure peace for herself, Lilly sets out to find--and punish--her assailant. Sporting a mysterious tattoo and unusually colored eyes, the rapist should be easy to identify. He even leaves what police would consider solid evidence. But when Lilly believes she has found him, DNA testing clears him as a suspect. How can she prove he is guilty, if science says he is not?

Distraught by the turn of events, Lilly suffers a setback and is fired from her job shortly after discovering she is pregnant as a result of her attack. Blinded by her desire for revenge, Lilly vows she will seize her life back and bring her rapist to justice--and the first step is figuring out how her nefarious assailant could cheat the usually conclusive DNA test. Her search must unravel the mystery of his genetic fingerprint even if it forces Lilly to deal with her own past and shaky faith. But the rapist is watching Lilly's every move. Can she discover the truth before he ends her life--and the life of her unborn child?

"Proof" by Jordyn Redwood is a thriller which should appeal to many groups of readers. ER physician Dr. Lilly Reeves is viciously attacked and raped. She is initially preoccupied by the attack on her but then decides to take action by doing what she does best - practicing medicine. She looks into old medical records for clues and discovers a secret which threatens to unravel the mystery of the crime. Hopefully, her findings will bring a brutal murderer to justice but in the meantime, Lilly must concentrate on keeping herself from harm's way in order to bring a rapist to justice. Ms. Redwood masterfully weaves together various clues as she introduces characters who are both disturbing and mesmerizing. She leaves the reader visualizing how the various clues will either lead to personal disaster or to the capture of a sociopath who has eluded law for years. Even though some of the content is disturbing to the reader, no one will want to let go in order to release the tension which methodically builds to a masterful conclusion. Even hardened mystery sleuths will be delighted with the plot development which pictures the true horrors of the sociopath as well as the caring compassion of those in the medical service community. Even though I knew that some of Lilly's investigative tactics are bordered on the illegal, I could not help but cheer for her persistence and tenacity as she diligently sought to bring a satisfying end to a personally disastrous event.
