Bernie is taking her first trip to New York City. Angry at the lack of Christmas presents she's received, she decides to explore the city on her own. Eventually, she makes her way to Central Park, where she meets a remarkable homeless man named Ellis Duncan. As evening falls, Ellis Duncan tells Bernie about a long-ago Christmas and a wonderful and unforgettable gift.
Born in Ohio, but spending many years in New York and North Carolina, I now live in Richmond, Virginia, with my wonderful husband, Bob, our dog, Ari, two house cats, Blackie and Joey...and 17 homeless outdoor cats which we feed, and have had neutered with the help of a wonderful local volunteer rescue group. Between us we have four wonderful children and eight beautiful grandchildren. Can life get any better?

I am currently working on a book of short plays which, I hope, will be published by Writers Exchange in the near future.
