3rd time in 50 years, that I've read this book, and was intrigued & captivated..all over again! Spellbound is not too strong a word to describe how I feel, when reading a Dick Francis book. I've refused food, dates, sleep, family get-togethers & even dog-walks when I'm into an especially absorbing part of "my" life in one of his many books... becoming who & what I'm reading about. Now, if you understand my verbosity & maybe have empathized a bit with me/words I have written, then you are a rare & horsey bird and I would love to get to know you better-- Lisa (aka "The Great Aunt Lisa" ) 😁😉😊🌄

As always exceptionally satisfying. From start to finish holds your attention. I always try to access a Duck Francis pot boiler when possible.

Dick Francis is widely acclaimed as one of the world's finest thriller writers. His awards include the Crime Writers' Association's Cartier Diamond Dagger for his outstanding contribution to the crime genre, and an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Tufts University of Boston. In 1996 Dick Francis was made a Mystery Writers of America Grand Master for a lifetime's achievement and in 2000 he received a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
