Ain't She Sweet is the newest glimpse into the lives of the Abbott family. Ms. Force teased the relationship between Tyler and Charley in a previous book and I was anxious to see how Tyler was going to win over the heart of wary Charley. I see so much of myself in Charley - someone who can be strong and argumentative and contrary as a defense mechanism. Charley faults herself for not seeing what was happening to her previously, so she's decided to protect herself from heartbreak again. Tyler is the perfect man to break through Charley's tough exterior to see the emotional woman underneath. I love how insightful and thoughtful Tyler is - he's able to determine early-on that something is driving Charley to be the way that she is and he's determined to tread lightly but deliberately. I love how attentive Tyler is to Charley. I just really love everything about Tyler. Charley is a character that you love - even though she makes it hard - and there are times that you want to smack her upside the head. I enjoyed watching her transition as she grew to trust Tyler and open herself up to things she didn't think she ever wanted again. I felt much like the residents of Butler when they were worried about Fred. I was surprised it took so long for Fred to make an appearance and I was a little disappointed that we didn't see more of him in the story - maybe he's been off mourning the loss of his first love (Cameron). As with all Ms. Force's romances, the intimacy is steamy and well done. The characters certainly got creative while Charley was recuperating from the injury that landed her in Tyler's house in the first place!

I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Tyler Westcott! AIN’T SHE SWEET was a labor of love to read. Charley is a spit-fire and VERY adamant about not getting serious with anyone, including the ever-annoying Tyler. Fate, however, has different plans for Charley. When she has an accident during a cold morning run and is laid up for several weeks to heal, Tyler suggests he be charged with Charley’s care. He feels responsible for Charley’s accident by challenging her to a run in less than ideal conditions, but also looks at this as a prime opportunity to win Charley’s heart. Tyler knows he’s facing an uphill battle when it comes to Charley. But Tyler sees that under Charley’s tough exterior and sharp tongue, hides the heart of a strong, courageous and loving woman. A woman that Tyler wants in his life, permanently. As always, Charley never surrenders and it will take a hope, a wing and lots of prayers to capture the heart of this prickly, stubborn-as-a-mule woman. I loved the story but Charley was an exercise in patience. She was mean, surly (more mean), and just wouldn’t budge or melt as Tyler cared for and doted mercilessly on her. I swear I’ve never read a more stubborn, jerk of a heroine and I had to put the book down several times just to get away from her. She really put Tyler through the ringer. Now Tyler, oooooo wheee! He is smart, goofy, sexy and has a frickin’ heart of gold! And I think he should be awarded sainthood for all the stuff he put up with in dealing with Charley. If she doesn’t want him, I’ll take him! He reminds me a lot of Noah from I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND. Tyler wanted everything with Charley but accepted what she could give him at the time. It’s almost fictitious to read a character like Tyler. Why would he go through all this and wait all this time for a woman who doesn’t want him? My best friend was in exactly the same position Tyler was in. He met the woman of his dreams, but she had a lot of hang-ups and a lot of baggage. My friend KNEW that she was the one for him and so he waited and waited. He became her friend, confidant, lover, sounding board, whatever she needed…until she was ready to accept the love, support and everything my friend had to offer her. They recently celebrated their one-year anniversary and are so happy together. When the RIGHT woman (or man) comes along, they will be worth the wait, sleepless nights and heartaches. I can’t speak for myself, but I know it happened with Tyler and Charley and it definitely happened in real life with my friend and his wife. The story also has plenty of the Abbotts as well as a wedding and a few surprises. As with all the Green Mountain books, they are well-written, heart-warming, laugh-out-loud funny and have me wanting more! I received an early copy of the book and read it a while back. I had written the review but when I went back to find it for the release day, it was just…gone. Disappeared without a trace. So I ended up having to re-write the review. And I’m glad I had to, otherwise I wouldn’t have remembered the real life Charley and Tyler I know. I wouldn’t have believed their happily ever after if I wasn’t there to witness it myself. AIN’T SHE SWEET is a lovely read that will have you believing that anything is possible. All of the Green Mountain books are magical and have the one constant that every wonderful story needs: Love. I highly recommend this and every book by Marie Force. ***I was gifted a paperback ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own*** ·
