About this ebook

Alison Dashford Reid wants three things for her twenty-first birthday: a trip to New York City, a break from her steeped-in-scandal family, and for her sister’s much older bodyguard to take her virginity.

Scott Mayfair—ex-Navy SEAL, ex-spy—doesn’t like losing control of his life. So when his accounts are locked after a dust up with the British Government, he doesn’t turn to his family, of Mayfair Enterprises wealth. He gets a job running security…and Ali Reid twirls into his life.

She’s lovely and light, pure goodness, and is hell bent on seducing him. His life is complicated to say the least. But when she texts him at four in the morning, he can’t say no.

It was a very hard read. Couldn't get into the book. Almost no buildup or development of characters, just wham-bam- thank- you- ma'am... Just wasn't for me. Couldn't even finish and I kept thinking if I just keeping reading it, I will like it. Nope. Made it 3/4 of the way through it, then stopped. Have no desire to finish.

What a terrific love story! Scott is a deliciously alpha bodyguard, more than a decade older than the wise-beyond-her-years Alison, and you gotta admire his restraint in resisting her very bold advances for as long as he did. Once that bridge is crossed, however, the dynamic changes when their hearts get involved. I really enjoyed the push-pull between these two, how one was pursuing the physical relationship while the other was recognizing the emotional tangle they were in. It was one of the most intimately-detailed books I've read yet it was perfectly balanced with the non-steamy times, too. Their HEA was absolutely perfect.

Who would have thought that two such emotionally damaged people could come together for a HEA? The climax of the story (no pun intended) threw me for a loop. All told, a well-written, well-edited story I'll enjoy again and again.
