This review was written by Marie for a guest review post on Ever After Book Reviews blog: 5 Stars The best thing about this series is the way that it touches you as a reader. The characters are deeply written, with flawed characteristics that make them seem familiar – like real people that you know and see every day. Their lives aren’t perfect, and Sadie is a prime example of how life has a funny way of showing you that sometimes what feels like the worst of the worst can present you with the opportunity for an even better future. Sadie and her grandmother, Gigi, quilt together. It has brought them together and given them something to enjoy in life with one another. So when they’re given the opportunity to enter a contest with the grand prize being an all-expenses paid trip to the Scottish Highlands, they sign right up… and win! But right before they’re getting ready to leave, Gigi falls ill and passes away. Heartbroken, Sadie decides she doesn’t want to go on the trip without her grandmother. Her brother, however, has a different plan, and convinces her to go and enjoy herself. Once there, Sadie meets a wonderful group of ladies who remind her of her grandmother, and she instantly finds herself glad that she made the venture. But then she meets Ross. Gorgeous. Charming. Sweet. Single. Sadie is smitten, and Ross finds himself just as caught up in her. It would seem that the trip couldn’t be any better and that true love is in the air. That is until friends of Ross, who have seen him have his heart broken before, intervene to keep him from being left broken-hearted all over again. A wonderfully written story, Ms. Griffin brings her characters to life on the pages of this book. Every emotion is felt with beautifully painted words, and the chemistry between all of the characters jumps out with every turn of the page. Sadie is a wonderful protagonist. Strong, beautiful and ambitious. Ross is the perfect male for a contemporary romance. He is charming, handsome and carries an emotional hardship that keeps him distant enough for a chase, but close enough for a beautiful happily ever after. I love this series, and this book is a fantastic addition to it. I can’t wait to find out what’s in store next! ***I read and reviewed a paperback copy of the book gifted to the blog in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***
