About this ebook

“A timeless story for every young person who needs to understand that they are not alone.” —Judy Blume

“Once in a while, a novel comes along that becomes a generational touchstone. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of those books.” —R. J. Palacio, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wonder

This #1 New York Times bestselling coming-of-age story with millions of copies in print takes a sometimes heartbreaking, often hysterical, and always honest look at high school in all its glory.

The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky follows observant “wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

A #1 New York Times bestseller for more than a year, adapted into a major motion picture starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson (and written and directed by the author), and an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults (2000) and Best Book for Reluctant Readers (2000), this novel for teen readers (or wallflowers of more-advanced age) will make you laugh, cry, and perhaps feel nostalgic for those moments when you, too, tiptoed onto the dance floor of life.

Even though i had only read the sample i can just tell this book is amazing! Ive been obsessing over this book after watching the movie, but i was told that for movie purposes they had left out information(parts of the story and such) and me being the curios teen i am i wanted to get the paperback book because this was the first time i had ever been interested in books that have no comic panels and just pictures in general. It surprised me even more because in most story that ive been forced to read the girl always has a mostly perfect life and good grades etc.. Which isnt always the case when it comes to highschool. As i am nearing high school i have gotten more and more interest in "Coming of Age" books! The reason being because they bring me comfort for the next step in life, knowing that my favorite main book character had gone through similar things. As you can see from my run on sentences and unreadable sentences i can relate to Charlie alot, that i write just how i talk and that i really need more work in putting the correct punctuation on things

Charlie and i are complete opposites but i connected with him an an amazing way.. Charlie's someone you do not want to be in highschool but the way he expresses himself in this novel makes you like it even more..it almost felt like i was having a real life conversation with him. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

With your attention captured from first page to last, this form of brilliance struck a gold mine of emotion. Even capable of distracting from the fact that its not my typical genre, dystopian. Charlie is the most relatable character I've ever read about , and my heart truly empathized with him. Simple words developed much more complex emotions that were never really present prior to reading, but apparent ever since.
