There were more than a couple English slip-ups throughout the book. The author's general style develops as the story does. Having finished this one, I believe that the author shows enough potential, and has developed interesting enough characters, as to warrant the continuation of the series. The characters and the world are pretty well developed. There were a couple points where I was feeling the story stretched, but it all came back together well. In contrast to The Dresden Files, the protagonist is a bit more helpless, though both main characters are magic-users. This is an interesting difference. Harry gets himself into all kinds of trouble even given his proclivity for combat magic, but Rachel Morgan feels like she's going to get herself killed. I'm interested to see how the rest of the series develops this character, and whether she will stand on her own or only with the help of her companions.

I loved this book. Originally i read the third one first because i didnt know it was a part of a series but when i found out i had to have them all. anyway, this book drew me in so fast and this entire new world was unlike any other world i have previously dipped in.
