About this ebook

A new age dawns in the Multiverse—and the balance of power shifts—in this Magic: The Gathering novel that brings readers to the heart of a Planeswalker struggle

Jace Beleren is a planeswalker who has taken the path of least resistance. He is gifted and powerful, but chooses not to push himself. Part of an inter-planar consortium that deals in magical artifacts, Jace has some power and influence. He also has a certain amount of security. That’s all about to change when Liliana—a dark temptress with demons of her own—comes into his life, bringing with her more possibilities and more problems.

Under attack from external interests, a friend dies because of decisions Jace made. Upset with himself and fearing for his life, Jace sets out to find who is behind this new threat. What he uncovers along the way, an inter-planar chase filled with peril, will alter everything he knows.

I originally purchased this as a hardcover for the alternate art Jace card that came with the book. Since Jace is my favorite Planeswalker I enjoyed the back story. Some of it was a bit forced, ie: getting other Planeswalkers in on the story, when it didn't really add to the story. Also, which I found a bit weird, if Planeswalkers are so rare in the multiverse, why do they happen to just keep running into each other?

I haven't read many novels so I was somewhat hesitant to start reading now due to English being my third language, but it was a very enjoyable read. Great story line, fun twists and written in an easy to follow format but not boring. Looking forward to start the next book! Cheers!

Haven't played Magic before, but it was a nice introduction to the mechanics of narrative MTG multiverse. I'm now interested in other stories that feature planeswalkers
