About this ebook

The powerful second book in the New York Times bestselling Testing trilogy.

In the series debut The Testing, sixteen-year-old Cia Vale was chosen by the United Commonwealth government as one of the best and brightest graduates of all the colonies—a promising leader in the effort to revitalize postwar civilization. In Independent Study, Cia is a freshman at the University in Tosu City with her hometown sweetheart, Tomas.

Though the government has tried to erase her memory of the brutal horrors of The Testing, Cia remembers. Her attempts to expose the ugly truth behind the government’s murderous programs put her—and her loved ones—in a world of danger. But the future of the Commonwealth depends on her.

“The Testing is a chilling and devious dystopian thriller that all fans of The Hunger Games will simply devour. Joelle Charbonneau writes with guts and nerve but also great compassion and heart. Highly recommended.”—Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Rot & Ruin and Flesh & Bone

The Testing trilogy is:

  • The Testing
  • Independent Study
  • Graduation Day

The Testing is an amazing book with similarities to the Hunger Games but with a different feel to it. 4 stars because if it's like Catching Fire than it will be the main character, Malencia discovering the truth of the world she's in and becoming self-aware. Im 14 and this book will be a great read either way.

Liked how they can all be friends in the end. I understand Tomas and y he did not tell Cia at first tho. Great way to continue the series.

Joelle does it again with another fabulous book. Though I enjoyed the Testing more (as evertyone knows the first book is always the best), this book is a wonderful read. The ending blows your mind and makes you want more even though you have to wait until summer to find out what happens! I am counting down the days to read graduation day. This series is tied for second on my favorite series list with Divergent on top, Hunger Games tied, and Maze Runner and The Giver tied third. Read this book/series!
