The B-Team marks John Scalzi's return to his Old Man's War universe, the series for which he's most known. Set after the events of The Last Colony and Zoe's Tale, it tells of a Colonial Union team sent to repair a diplomatic mission gone wrong. It is telling that I was really disappointed when I got to the end - I wanted more. Luckily this is the first in a series, and well worth the price. If forced to compare, I would rate this with some of the best Star Trek TV episodes, and I'm old enough to have seen them all. Bonus, the science descriptions actually make sense without using magic tech with indecipherable names.

Fabulous return to the world of the Colonial Union, and its CDF Army. I was surprised not to hear from Perry or Sagan, but that made the book no less enjoyable. Pre-ordered the rest of the series on audio, can't wait to see how this all goes.
