کتاب انوسی منظومه‌ای روایی در بیان زندگی یهودیان ایران در میانهٔ عصر صفوی است. بابایی بن لطف در این کتاب از روزگار سخت یهودیان در دوران شاه عباس اول، بهبود نسبی وضعیت آنان در دوران شاه صفی و واقعهٔ تغییر کیش اجباری‌شان در زمان حکمرانی شاه عباس دوم میگوید و به رخدادهای مهمی می‌پردازد که یهودیان شهرهای مختلف ایران در فاصلهٔ سال‌های 1016 تا 1072 ه.ق از سر گذرانده‌اند. داده‌ها، اطلاعات و محتوای این کتاب در حوزه‌هایی چون تاریخ، فرهنگ و زندگی اجتماعی یهودیان ایران، تاریخ ایران عصر صفوی، تاریخ ادیان و مذاهب ایران، تاریخ اجتماعی ایران، زبان‌شناسی و گویش‌پژوهی، تاریخ محلی و تاریخ ادبیات ایران حائز اهمیت است.
The Book of the Anusi is a collection of narrativepoems describing the life of Jewish Persians in the mid Safavid dynasty era in the 17th century CE. Reporting on the calamities befalling the Jews in various Persian cities between the years 1607 and 1662 CE, Babai Ben Lotf tells of the difficult years under Shah Abbas I, the more tolerant interlude during Shah Safi and the event of the forced religious conversion of Jews at the time of Shah Abbas II. The narratives, the information and the content offered in this book, are not only important concerning the culture, history and the social life of the Jews of Persia, but also significant when it comes to Persian history at large under the Safavids, the history of religion in Persia, social history, languages and dialects in Persia, local histories as well as the history of Persian literature in general.
