Dark Rendezvous is one of the stand-out works of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. It's humorous, knowing, and wise. In fact, its greatest difficulty is fitting smoothly into everything else, as it was written by a unique author, who took each of his characters in new directions. But it's well worth the read, and worth the several rereads. If you're looking for a fun introduction to the Clone Wars, and one not without pathos, this is it.

This is what Star wars is all about and what it should be, great characters portrayed accurately and honestly touching on the broad themes of light and dark, but also digging deeper and asking tough questions about the place we have in the universe and whether there's a point to the endless struggle, also does a great job of framing the setup to episode three and making it more understandable why the Galaxy went the way it did after order 66
