That was an amazing story! Serena has learned from an early age to never tell anyone of her gift, she sees the dead. An opportunity arises when she was invited to go to Blackthorn Academy. There she can learn to control her powers. Raven is at Blackthorn Academy to help control his thirst. It has gotten better over the past year. That is until Serena Notte arrives, something else has awakened. Have the fates smiled down on him and given him a fated mate. This was a great read, C. D. Gorri is an amazing author. The sheer talent she has with the written word to produce a captivating stories. I highly recommend anything she has ever written!! A MUST read!!. This story is out of this world clever, well written, perfect amount of steam with great paranormal characters and a perfect ending. This is the first in the Blackthorn Academy series and it’s excellent. Serena was raised as a human and doesn’t know what she is, just that she sees dead people. Raven is a Draugr, a Viking suffering from a horrible curse who lives on the blood of others. Excellent start to the series, loved this story. Waiting impatiently for the next in the series. I

A new series opens as it introduces the paranormal world via Blackthorn Academy where young paranormals go to learn and mingle. This one was a blast to read as poor Raven a Draugr meets Serena a necromancer when she comes as a first year to Blackthorn. Queue trouble and danger and a wild read. Had to see if these two would get a happy ending with the mess they bring with them. Enjoyed the characters both main and secondary and the story and world introduced here. Will fated mates be enough
