Growing up in West Texas with only a reading interest in comic books, Jim Johnson never cultivated a serious interest in reading much less writing during his early life. He caught the writing bug when his brother, Poet Caesar Dubois, became published. When Caesar encouraged a possible collaboration and had to bow out, Jim continued to write with Caesar's blessing. His methodical research led to his first novel, Soldier and the Lady, which was published in 2005. His other writing credits include: a second novel Black Widow Murders; articles: A Whole New Game-New Names and Faces for the Abilene Reporter News, and Market Research Techniques and Publishing for the Abilene Writers Guild Newsletter. He is a former Executive Board member of the Abilene Writers Guild, and lives in Abilene, Texas with his wife Wilma.
