Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster "300," this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield - on the sea - as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

"300: Rise of an Empire" pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

lots and lots of cg blood, not a drop on most of the fighters, too many details over looked, waste of money, this movie screams that they would rather use computer generated everything because they have a low budget. and then they put an animal out of its place and make it do things that are illogical... they over dramatized in all the wrong ways. it was wired and awkward to watch. i recommend you watch it just to see how poorly this movie was made.

Not nearly as "good" as the also poor '300' starring Gerard Butler... This is a film for lovers of stylized action taken to the absurd. Poor acting paves the way for a ridiculous recounting of an historic conflict between two mighty ancient civilizations. It feels like it was directed by a 14 year old boy who was granted a 90 million dollar GCI spending spree. If i had to choose between this film and the recent 'Pompeii'... would choose flappy bird on my phone... And I really do not enjoy flappy bird.

I was hoping this movie would have been more original. Too bad I cut this movie short it was that bad. That says alot, and didnt Leonidas call the Athenians boy lovers in the original mp 300? I couldnt get that out of my head. This movie copied so much of the first flick. Just has -C actors. Like them testicles. These guys didnt even work out or spray abs. on. Not that I give a poop. Dont waste money. Borrow this or stream lol
