'71 is not an action movie, It's a silent thriller that has a lot of intensity & suspense without using much action, which is actrually great. Actor Jack O' Connell gives another outstanding performance & proves he can really act. However, the lack of information of the film is quite disappointing, but for a thriller, it's really good. So '71 is definitely worth renting or even buying because it succeeds at being a intense thriller with very little action & keeps you intrigued until the very end.

Really 2 stars but it was ok so....good movie but I didn't know who anyone was really, except soldiers. Some dudes could have been twins. You don't know who's IRA or the other side or good or bad. Just confusing. No backstory or character development. If you don't know any history, you will not understand at all. Word!

Very well done movie... brutal war... the people of Northern Ireland are still feeling the effects of that war many many decades later... I think the reason not many people saw this movie was because not many people know about or understand what that conflict was all about....
