Acerca de esta película

Starring Shailene Woodley (Fault in Our Stars, Divergent films) and Sam Claflin (Me Before You, The Hunger Games films), ADRIFT is based on the inspiring true story of two sailors who set out to journey across the ocean from Tahiti to San Diego. Tami Oldham (Woodley) and Richard Sharp (Claflin) couldn’t anticipate they would be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. In the aftermath of the storm, Tami awakens to find Richard badly injured and their boat in ruins. With no hope for rescue, Tami must find the strength and determination to save herself and the only man she has ever loved. ADRIFT is the unforgettable story about the resilience of the human spirit and the transcendent power of love.

Not a fan of the flashback thing. Just tell a story in chronological order, if they had done that it would've earned 2 more stars. On an aside, hopefully nothing like this will ever happen to me, but if it did I would consider myself monumental to be able to meet the challenges with just a tenth of her courage..

I liked the action, the suspense, the love, and the way it was all filmed to keep you a little confused until the end. I thought the plot was decent but needed a little something extra to make it really compelling, I'm just not sure what it's missing. It pulled at my heart strings well and had me cheering them on. Overall a decent movie I would watch again.

Though I prefer films that place a higher emphasis on what it takes to survive (jury-rigging a desalination kit, figuring out how to fish, rigging a sun shelter, etc.) I was quite impressed with how deeply this movie sucks you in. I wish they also would have played up a higher emphasis on the mental toll it takes. I mean obviously they do mention it in one regard near the end of the film, but I also know that the true story involves near-suicide at some points and a general hopelessness that wasn't fully felt as the viewer before she gets rescued. It's rare to say that the true story is actually more harrowing than the movie makes it out to be, but that's what happened here. Nonetheless it was thoroughly enjoyed by myself ,an avid enjoyer of survival flicks, and my wife, who tends to dislike this type of movie.
