In 2012 after a close colleague turned whistleblower finally uncovered her scheme and alerted the Mayor as self, the FBI arrested Crundwell as the largest municipal fraud perpetrator in American history. How ironic Dixon Illinois own Ronald Reagan said "trust but verify". Sad but riveting movie especially for those like me who followed the story in the press from the beginning. Not only the inept accountants & bank, but the lazy, bury their heads in the sand, government officials created a perfect enviorment for fraud. A must see movie.

Great documentary on fraud and how trust can be shattered and how a town has to rebuild. Great explanation of how it happened and discussions on who besides Rita was at fault.
