Acerca de esta película

Sequel to the hit genre-bending cult musical The Devil’s Carnival. Lucifer (Terrance Zdunich) incites Heaven's wrath by dispatching train cars full of condemned souls a-crashin' through the Pearly Gates. God (Paul Sorvino), in response, readies his top negotiator, The Agent (Adam Pascal), for a trip down to The Carnival to put an end to the rebellious deeds. As the Carnival's veteran taskmaster, Ticket-Keeper (Dayton Callie), futilely attempts to ready Hell's Carnies for an impending war, Lucifer holds a private rally in his chamber. The Dark Lord recounts the fable of “The Filly and The Lapdog,” a tale that tracks the long and sordid history that has led to the present conflict between Heaven and Hell wherein an ambitious subject of Heaven, June (Emilie Autumn), oversteps her bounds and is cast out.

I am a HUGE fan of Repo, and saw the first TDC while they were on tour and met Terrance and everyone and even that movie was not too great but there were a few decent parts because it at least had a storyline. This movie? It is IMPOSSIBLE to follow, the few parts you can are poorly written, the songs are AWFUL. I was very very very disappointed in every aspect of it. The whole thing feels rushed and poorly written. The "ending" genuinely made no sense, and was just cut off (avant garde is rediculous).

The whole movie was basically one of the character's origin story, which was something that could have been summed up in about 5 minutes. I love Repo! and I enjoyed the first Devil's Carnival movie, but this just felt insanely rushed, it all felt a bit lazy and to be honest I was bored for most of the movie. It dwelled a lot on tiny details that didn't really interest me, and some of the songs went on for far too long. Definitely wouldn't recommend it :(((

This was an interesting world building movie for the ideas of heaven vs hell that the first Devil's Carnival gave us. However, this film is similar to catching fire from hunger games in the sense that this film is just a "build up" for what's to come in another movie (if we get one in this sequence). The movie, 90% wise is the origin story to the Doll, which I don't mind because it's well acted and fleshes out a character more. Personally I prefer the soundtrack in the original Devil's Carnival more, but that's just my own musical tastes.
