Ewan McGregor directs and stars alongside Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning in this acclaimed film adapted from Philip Roth’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Seymour "Swede" Levov (Ewan McGregor), a once-legendary high school athlete, is a successful businessman married to an ex-beauty queen, Dawn (Jennifer Connelly). When Swede and Dawn’s daughter (Dakota Fanning) disappears after being accused of a violent crime, Swede’s perfect life is broken forever and he is left to make sense out of the chaos.

Very surprised by this film. I had it on my list of movies to watch in 2016 and then the election and life got lost in the fray. I couldn't go back to sleep and somehow this movie popped up as a reminder. I decided to watch it at 1am. Not disappointed at all. Sorry it took this long to watch it. “Life is just a short period of time in which you are alive." was one of the quotes that got me and then the ending. Very well done. As I have often stated conciousness is the gift, not right or wrong.

This movie was interesting and it had me wondering and a little suspense. I was entertained and that is what this is..... Entertainment! It lacked in alot of areas but other areas it was better than some of those oscar nominated films!!!

Good movie. Wasn't the best movie ever but worth watching. All the characters political views seem to be the foundation for the basis of this movie.sad and hopeful not to mention politically controversial.
