A romantic action-adventure epic set in Australia prior to World War II that centers on an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a large ranch. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle drover (Hugh Jackman) to protect her ranch. Together they experience four life-altering years, a love affair and the bombing of Darwin during World War II.

HUGH JACKMAN. He made my day. Artistically speaking, he and Nicole did a fabulous job. Kept my attention throughout the film. Touched on a main topic well-known here in the state's when it comes to the life of the little boy. Good movie. Hugh was a distraction, but after my 3rd viewing, I was able to focus more on the plot. Can't help it. He's eye candy.

This movie far surpassed my expectations. I'm a huge fan of these two, from down under. It's a long movie, but has great rewatchability

I had this on dvd and I played it to the point that it ended up warped. I absolutely LOVE Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. I also love the quote that shows in the very begining of the movie. The banner saying "A life lived in fear is a life half lived." I am getting that as.my next tattoo.
