I love this adaptation of Rapunzel but the animation has aged poorly since it was released. I think they need to re-animate this film but maintain the same story and characters. Unlike the original fairytale where it encouraged lying, this adaptation teaches young viewers that honesty is the best policy in general and cheaters never prosper. Finally, I love how Rapunzel's hair returns to its original length at the end.

The story of Rapunzel will never get old to me no matter the version, but I grew up on this version way before the Disney adaptation. I related to Rapunzel growing up as my parents sheltered my brother & I & I always questioned what was out in the world, who I could meet, what I could do, where I could go, & so much more. Barbie films never get old to me & they are such comfort films when I need them.

It's funny I have the DVD but I had them when I was 3 so they are REALLY scratchy! This is my 2nd favorite Barbie movie next to princess and the popper! I really love all of the Barbie movies. There are very few that I haven't seen and I'm trying very hard to see them!!!
