I liked it, but I didn't. But I did. I feel they chose the right actors but it wasn't executed in the way it should have been. There wasn't enough terror for what was going to happen to Belle and her father - the original pulls at all your emotions in those scenes. The live action, not so much. Also idk if it's just me but when you can literally tell that auto tune has been used, it kind of ruins the whole Disney magic thing. Big oops.

Meh. It was OK. Points on for geeking out over books and making me cry at the end. Points off for real animal exploitation and encouraging the ideas of real horse and donkey slavery and that (cgi) wolves are evil (no dear, that's *humans* you're thinking of). It didn't need to be remade. We need NEW stories, not ones that are this backwards, overlong and mushy. Come on, Disney: Do BETTER. On the bright side, it did leave me with the sense that I could easily write a musical...

A complete waste of money in creating a live action version of a Disney classic. The cynic in me thinks that maybe this was an effort to generate some profit and boy did they succeed - didn't even need to get a new script or many new songs. Still passes the time but makes you yearn for both the earlier animation and Cocteau's original vision which it borrowed so heavily from.
