Acerca de esta película

Jon Hamm stars as Mason Skiles, a former U.S. diplomat, who gets sent to Beirut to negotiate a swap for the release of a terrorist leader, believed to be imprisoned by Israeli secret police, in exchange for a CIA agent who has been kidnapped. Confronted by ghosts from his past, Mason faces a formidable question: Who do you trust in a world where the truth emerges only when it's convenient – or profitable? From the writer of the Bourne trilogy, this taut action thriller also stars Rosamund Pike and Dean Norris and is being hailed by critics as "tense & ever-twisting" (Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times). - ( Original Title - Beirut )

Refreshing to have acting involved in a movie with good direction. Everything coming out now seems to have some hidden agenda that is supposed to make us better people for watching it. This one tells a story if followed can take you away for a couple hours. if you know anything about that period you can relate to this film. If you do not it can be an action documentary. The story may seem short in a couple ways, but it gets explained over the course of the film. Acting and Direction makes it worth while. Suggest seeing for yourself.

I did really like it although as I know the area a couple of mistakes were glaring trying to get an authenticity feeling. There is no camels in Beirut or sheep even during the darkest hours of war. I know it was mostly filmed in Morocco. We could say whatever we want about the city of Beirut or Lebanon but the weather is wonderful and there is no desert.

'80s Beirut. Nailed it, right down to the visual metaphor of the dusty promo posters for Brooke Shields' movie, Endless Love, in French (L'Amour Eternel) hanging in plastered tatters from the cement wall of a bombed out apartment building. Cinema verite ;)
