Acerca de esta película

When ex-blues musician Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson) finds the town nymphomaniac Rae (Christina Ricci) left for dead on the side of the road, he vows to nurse her back to health...and cure her of her wickedness. Until then, she'll be chained to the immovable radiator in his home. But Lazarus has demons of his own: his wife just left him for his own brother. While Lazarus and Rae struggle to fix their broken lives, the situation threatens to explode as Rae's boyfriend Ronnie (Justin Timberlake) — a roughneck soldier just back from Iraq — comes searching for his missing lover.

I've always meant to watch this movie, but didn't get around to it for years; after seeing it, I have to say that it's going to remain a favorite for the foreseeable future. The plot is engaging and moving, and the actors play their characters as though they were walking in their shoes instead of just reading lines. I would definitely recommend Black Snake Moan to anyone who wants a movie that takes them on a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs, but ends with a satisfying finish.

Honest and real depiction of what a chronic PTSD diagnoses would look like, in the form of a patient who endured absolutely horrific sexual assault (this is coming from a diagnosed patient by one of the top former VA psychiatrists in San Diego) - sexual assault and dissociation is a REAL epidemic worldwide and big kudos to the entire team who worked on, and put together, this exquisite portrayal! This is the first movie I have seen where dissociation, based on sexual assault trauma, is explained through art so well. This is an epidemic that no one wants to talk about and it is going to lead to more and more diagnoses of PTSD in the coming future. This NEEDS to change and sexual assault survivors are the highest percentage of PTSD patients. Unless people truly start opening their eyes, more and more, people are going to keep trying to commit suicide. I mean, why would ANYONE want to endure what Ricci acts out so amazingly real? People are fooled into thinking horrific trauma could never happen to them, or anyone associated with them, and "don't have time" to waste on such negative stuff. PTSD can happen to ANYONE - brains handle trauma exactly as designed to do, protecting!!!

This movie came out almost 10 yrs ago and I never saw it until now. I don't understand how Samuel L. Jackson isn't an Oscar winner with all the different roles he's had throughout his career.
