Portman delivers the performance of her career (Vanity Fair ) as Nina, a stunningly talented but dangerously unstable ballerina on the verge of stardom. Pushed to the breaking point by her driven artistic director (Vincent Cassel) and the threat posed by a seductive rival dancer (Mila Kunis), Nina's tenuous grip on reality starts to slip away plunging her into a waking nightmare.

Not sure where all the positive reviews come from but for me personally, I found this movie very dull and slow and couldn't actually finish watching it. Perhaps it gets exciting in the end? The first hour though was not worth my money.

A very interesting story centred around Natalie Portman's character. Intense and gripping, but also layered and thought-provoking. Open to deep analysis, but also can be enjoyed by the average viewer. Acted, written, directed and scored excellently.

Not my idea of a horror, more dramatic suspense or psychodrama, but an intelligent, layered film. Slow moving, but it intends to be. Wonderfully acted.
