De la mano del aclamado escritor, productor y restaurador Eddie Huang, llega su debut como director, Érase una vez en Queens, la historia de Alfred "Boogie" Chin, un fenómeno del básquetbol que vive en Queens, Nueva York, y que sueña con jugar algún día en la NBA. While this movie draws comparisons to "Love & Basketball," this movie is vastly different. The movie does a great job with exposing the audience to some Asian culture and also injecting domestic disputes and family pressure on kids. Pop Smoke was pretty good too (Rest In Peace). The director has to be top notch to make this work and he did better than that.

You can tell amateurs directed this. I turned it off a qtr of the way. Im shocked it's not anything that I predicted it to be. It's all over the place and they keep talking Chinese then English. It's like they patched different scenes. Doesn't have any order and the acting is horrible. The roles that they act in is terrible and cheesy.

When I first saw clips from the movie I was highly skeptical and did not think I would be interested in the slightest. I was absolutely blown away by the raw feeling this movie created and how realistic everything about it was. It genuinely felt like I was watching someone's every day life and I think the way it was shot and the dialogue was absolutely perfect. This has definitely become one of my favorite movies and I cant wait to watch it again!
