Acerca de esta película

Boy Erased tells the story of Jared (Hedges), the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents (Kidman and Crowe) at age 19. Jared is faced with an ultimatum: attend a conversion therapy program – or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith. "Boy Erased" is the true story of one young man's struggle to find himself while being forced to question every aspect of his identity.

this movie is nothing more then the brainwashing of the massesneg. a.areligion that views are that if Love, peace, kindness, understanding, forgivness, chasity, and unto duty unto one another. that duty extends far and wide into the a meriad of possibilities of the vasc depths ofman soul. We all have the God given right to chose what is right for ourselve in the end. the important part is to balence how to best responsibly love one another, and the planet and species in the best way in the end.

This was a tough film to get through, especially at the beginning and being a non-Christian. However, the film eventually evened out but read more as a cautionary tale than a tale about the main character, Jared, accepting himself. The first 2/3 of the film was about conversion therapy and then we get an ending that skips all the hard work Jared obviously had to deal with in coming to accept himself. That's not enough to say this film wasn't good, the performances were, but the movie hints at far more than it develops/delivers on screen. That said, it's good film to know, good to watch and good to recommend.

Please disregard the stupid conservatives whining in the comments, as usual, any movie depicting struggles from the LGBT (or any minority) is automatically "propaganda" to them, even if they clearly have not seen the movie. The film does tactfully touch base with some important subjects such as religious oppression, sexual abuse, suicide and conversion therapy without exaggerating any of the characters nor scenerios within, even if it is somewhat slow.
