This old "drama-mentary" / "docudrama" about the martial ways of Japan is fascinating, and one of my old favorites. I remember watching it on VHS a few times when I rented it from a movie store back in the 1990s. This martial arts documentary was filmed in the 1970s. Budo: The Art of Killing "also educates viewers in the spiritual and traditional aspect of this unique martial art." It features many experts in various martial arts, such as Aikido, Karate, Judo, and even Sumo. This was back in a time when the Japanese styles were arguably at the height of their popularity in the United States. Even today, with all of the many types of martial arts available, and the popularity of MMA, I believe a lot of Western viewers would find this film fascinating and educational. It definitely helped me form a lot of good opinions about the Japanese arts.
