In a genre that has gone in pretty much every direction with it's lore, this movie still managed to craft a creative, unique story angle. Three reasons I enjoyed this film: Saoirse Ronan kills it in all of her movies. 2. The vampires are not OP! They are supernatural, but not to a comic level. 3. I really found the transformation process from mortal to immortal creative and compelling. This movie is not perfect, but worth the watch if vamps are your thing.

Expecting so much but greatly disappointed. The film is disjointed with a contrived feel, some scenes utterly laughable. I had to turn it off after 40 minutes. It's a pity because you can tell that this director has the ability to have done a much better job.

It's got it's own lore but it fits well with its story, I can dig it. Good cast & director, it's subtle & I'm glad to see a vampire drama again.
