Acerca de esta película

One of the most iconic science fiction movies of all-time, Creature From the Black Lagoon is a groundbreaking classic showcasing Hollywood magic at its best. When scientists exploring the Amazon River stumble upon a 'missing link' connecting humans and fish, they plan to capture it for later study. The creature has plans of his own, however, inspired by the lead scientist's (Richard Carlson) beautiful fiancée (Julie Adams). Well-acted and directed, and with Bud Westmore's brilliantly designed monster, Creature From the Black Lagoon remains a masterpiece not only of the genre, but of all time.

Kind of a slow leisurely (and sort of boring) movie for the first 40 minutes but then it turns into an all out monster revenge flick. I agree that the monster's music gets a bit old after a while and it's bewildering to me to think that this lumbering monster could sneak up on anyone as many times as it does (especially because it seems to be roaring before attacking close to the end). Anyhow, the costume and underwater filming is amazing for the time. 👍

I can remember like it was yesterday, standing in line at the movie house, to be one of the first to watch this great movie All for 25 cents, and 10 cents more for a jumbo popcorn. Another great Flick from back in the 1950's and 1960's was " The Forbidden Planet " I just purchased that one.

Collectively the Universal Monsters are in my top 5 favorite movies. The Creature from the Black Lagoon (and the entire pantheon of Universal Monsters) have stood the test of time. They were the first and in my opinion the BEST horror movie icons. Not the slick, baroque "slasher" boogie men that followed years after. I believe the enduring success is in their tragic and flawed existence. Also, Creature's costume is a masterpiece and holds up even after 60+ years. This movie is simply, brilliant.
