Tras estrellarse una nave espacial en el muelle de Gotham City, Batman y Superman encuentran a una misteriosa kryptoniana con enormes poderes. La kryptoniana resulta ser Kara, la prima de Superman. El villano Darkseid tiene planes para ella. Viéndolo como una oportunidad para finalmente derrotar a Superman, Darkseid toma el control de Kara. Estará en manos de Superman y Batman salvarla.
