Okay, so it seems this movie is definitely misunderstood by the others writing reviews. It is NOT your standard horror - with ghosts/ghouls, solely relying on jump-out scare tactics, yadda yadda yadda. Decay is a very unique blend of genres, which put into words would go something like: psychological dark romantic drama with horror thrown within. Ultimately, at its roots, Decay is a romance story (a very, very twisted one) revolving around a mentally unstable character (Jonathan) who can't get rid of the haunting memories of his troubled childhood. I call it romance because Jonathan is clearly in love (and not in lust) with what seems to be the only outside human contact he's ever gotten aside from what little family & work interaction he has. It was very well done & thought out - from the script to the cinematography to the soundtrack. In the end, this is a slower-paced flick that unravels Jonathan's awkward lifestyle and how he manages to cope with all sorts of different situations. Oh, yeah, and about how he lives with a corpse in the house (but who doesn't do that, amirite?).
