DOCTOR SLEEP es la continuación de la historia de Danny Torrance 40 años después de los primeros eventos en El Resplandor, de Stephen King. Aún marcado irremediablemente por el trauma infantil en el Overlook, Dan Torrance ha conseguido encontrar la paz. Pero esa paz se rompe al conocer a Abra, una valiente adolescente con su propio don extrasensorial, conocido como el “resplandor”. Reconociendo por instinto que Dan comparte su poder, Abra lo ha buscado desesperada para que la ayude contra la despiadada Rose la Chistera y sus seguidores, el Nudo Verdadero. Formando una extraña alianza, Dan y Abra se ven envueltos en una batalla a vida o muerte con Rose. La inocencia y el audaz resplandor de Abra hacen que Dan desarrolle sus poderes como nunca antes, mientras que se enfrenta a sus miedos y despierta a los fantasmas del pasado.

Calificaciones y opiniones

Any Stephen King adaptation is worth watching. But this is a strange combo of a Kuprik sequel based on a Stephen King original. Major disappointment if you read the book. Too many cuts and changes from the source material. Uncle dan, Billy and doc, changing Andi's age, zero mention of Silent Sarah. So much focus on the Overlook that the plot suffers.

Directors cut DR. Sleep was a good sequel, exploring the Shining and the trauma suffered by Danny. In order to get the full understanding of the films you need to watch The Shining first. After seeing both I think if both had been made as one mini series it would have been even better.

I do read the book before adding my opinion. In this case, is an exception because I read the words "40 yrs. ago" that is where I would start. Find the origanle maybe on line? What I read of the review was just a dinamic start. the thrill of the Chase. The few words in the beginning worked for me.
